Headline reads, and as per the CDC website it states, “Wonder why zombies, zombie apocalypse, and zombie preparedness continue to live or walk dead on a CDC web site?” No this is not joke and well, yes, we certainly are wondering…OK, more like saying what in the actual (insert expletive) are you trying to play here. Oh, let us guess, you are claiming it was a great community outreach program that drove traffic to your site…or a trendy marketing shtick that is funded with my tax dollars…or as you claim, “We continue to reach and engage a wide variety of audiences on all hazards preparedness via “zombie preparedness”. Well, we are going to blow that thought process to smithereens by the time we get to one of the most foreshadowing, cryptic and terrifying comic books, yes published by the CDC, we have ever soon. The words within will send chills up your spine and have you asking…what are they exactly preparing us for?

The CDC is no stranger to controversy…but promoting how to prepare for the attack of the un-dead simply crosses the line. So for those of you that think this is ‘click bait’ or artistic license let me immediately put those thoughts to rest. I offer you exhibit # 1, the CDC’s “Zombie Preparedness” plan. I know, it’s hard to believe this stuff is real, but no a days truth is far stranger than fiction. There’s even a convenient and easy to display Zombie Poster to scare small children in to assuring everyone is prepared for something that can never happen…right? Well, not so fast my friends, the details of this plan go into great detail but we need to get you up to speed on an intersecting story first.

So, before we get back to preparing for the zombie apocalypse. Just a few days ago was announced, and as published here by CNN, “Pfizer/BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine can now be administered in the US, CDC director says” to be more specific, in the words of your Director Robert Redfield, ““Last night, I was proud to sign the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices’ recommendation to use Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine in people 16 and older”. Well let’s link together the real strange and unreal part of this story and it has nothing to do with the zombie minions ready to eat our flesh, no it rather has to do with another form of conquer under the banner of preparedness that creates a dangerous mixture of one part truth to three parts of agenda and mix in a dash of terrifying foreshadowing.

So, now the 101 of the zombie invasion, or as the CDC publishes, “Preparedness 101“. It starts by saying, “There are all kinds of emergencies out there that we can prepare for. Take a zombie apocalypse for example. That’s right, I said z-o-m-b-i-e a-p-o-c-a-l-y-p-s-e. You may laugh now, but when it happens you’ll be happy you read this, and hey, maybe you’ll even learn a thing or two about how to prepare for a real emergency.” The plan goes into greater depth, well let’s just read, “Better Safe than Sorry – So what do you need to do before zombies…or hurricanes or pandemics for example, actually happen? First of all, you should have an emergency kit in your house. This includes things like water, food, and other supplies to get you through the first couple of days before you can locate a zombie-free refugee camp (or in the event of a natural disaster, it will buy you some time until you are able to make your way to an evacuation shelter or utility lines are restored). Well things just went from a comedic shtick to reality in 0 seconds flat didn’t they?!? Is this really the time to be ‘joking’ about a “pandemic”, or is that just unfortunate timing…I’m sure they didn’t get it much thought…so let’s move onto the next part of their plan. “Never Fear – CDC is Ready – If zombies did start roaming the streets, CDC would conduct an investigation much like any other disease outbreak. CDC would provide technical assistance to cities, states, or international partners dealing with a zombie infestation. This assistance might include consultation, lab testing and analysis, patient management and care, tracking of contacts, and infection control (including isolation and quarantine). It’s likely that an investigation of this scenario would seek to accomplish several goals: determine the cause of the illness, the source of the infection/virus/toxin, learn how it is transmitted and how readily it is spread, how to break the cycle of transmission and thus prevent further cases, and how patients can best be treated. Not only would scientists be working to identify the cause and cure of the zombie outbreak, but CDC and other federal agencies would send medical teams and first responders to help those in affected areas (I will be volunteering the young nameless disease detectives for the field work).” Well that’s all worked out so well so far hasn’t it; their accuracy has been staggering. Just listen to Director Robert Redfield talking about masks [insert audio 1] or here on Twitter. and then in a follow up segment [insert audio 2] their plan is nearly flawless.

So what department of the CDC brought you this critical, yet ‘jovial’ set of information. Well none other that the Center For Preparedness and Response. Here is there home page, where it by the graphic and words below you can quickly start to piece this story together. “Emergency Preparedness, Response, and COVID-19 – The COVID-19 pandemic has made preparing for and responding to disasters and emergencies a little more complicated, but also (if possible) more important as we head into peak months of the hurricane and wildfire seasons.” Now again, it can be claimed the CDC is preparing you for an emergency evacuation from, as they say, hurricane and wildfires and using the comedic banner of the Zombie Apocalypse due to a ‘pandemic’ to do so…BUT…there are three reasons why this simply is better thought out than that.

Exhibit 1 – As declared on the same page is the following, “Stay informed of how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected emergency preparedness and response planning where you live. Pay attention to local guidance for evacuations and shelters. Your shelter location may be different this year because of the pandemic.” So they have now removed any reference to any natural disaster, this has gone straight to the pandemic itself, this gives us great cause for concern and suspicion, as so it should you. But maybe this is just a detail the mistakenly left out, we all make errors and we shouldn’t expect them to be without; although that statement in itself is terrifying. So let’s dig a bit deeper and go to the final resource they provide, the most detailed and in depth portion of the study, the real reference and preparedness outline….THE COMIC BOOK!

As you see here is “Preparedness 101: Zombie Pandemic” – not that just tied this all up in a neat little bow didn’t it. Now the concept of a disaster has transitioned into a direct reference point between pandemic and preparedness…now why didn’t you just say that in the beginning. But, we’ve gone this far so we may as well close this segment off with the comic book.

“…Warnings have been issued for dozens of counties about staying inside and area hospitals are being overrun“

OK now, this is starting to hit a little too close to home, what are you actually preparing us for…what is the next step, in the comic book of course..

“Stay in your homes, do not go outside. If you or your family begin showing symptoms such as slowed movement, slurred speech or violent behaviors. Isolate them to a secure area of the house…“

Then we get to Part II

“It appears to be a HIGHLY mutated form of the flu, they labeled it Z5N1.“

“The zombie virus is spreading rapidly infecting 21 people for every infected person”

“All the more reason to get the vaccine mad…and fast!”

“We’re using the same type of vaccine that we use for the seasonal flu…”

“Vaccines will be shipped to the safe zones as soon as they are ready. Stay tuned for a list of safe zones in your area”

“Do you think they’ll have food at one of these safe zones”

“Notice – By order of Wayne County Health Department: All persons wishing to enter the safe zone, must be screened prior to entry” – through what they call a “simple blood test“

So, you see, truth is much stranger than fiction…even when fiction is potential a foreshadowing of truth. Now you decide who the ‘zombies’ really are and what they are saying to do with them when the “bad storm” as they say really breaks loose. Couldn’t help but to bring you this information so you know all our CDC is doing to protect us…from the Zombie invasion…that may be coming soon in the form of a natural disaster.
