DESCRIPTION
Iran strikes, Pete Hegseth, Election Day
American forces struck Iranian targets before Election Day was over. Now reporting about President Trump’s scrutiny of Pete Hegseth and General Dan Caine raises another question: who will shape the next decision on Iran—and who could take the blame for the last one?
Justus Knight examines the reported Trump–Netanyahu call, the distinction between limited defensive strikes and a broader campaign, and the accountability questions that remain after the ballots are cast. The Pentagon rejects allegations that Hegseth has misrepresented the war, and the White House has expressed confidence in Hegseth and Caine. No dismissal is established by the reporting discussed here.
Principles over people. Policies over politics.
