The panicked texts and e-mails I received yesterday about Facebook being down illustrated exactly how much of a megalith Facebook has become; not as far a social media agent, but an agent of effective misguided informational politics.  So effective they are, that even those that know they are monitoring and guiding U.S. political opinion still panic when they’re gone.  It is a dangerous addiction to an organization that has pointed the finger of Fake News at so many in an effective campaign to assure they are not singled out as being the biggest purveyor.
