Over the last year, I have watched and listening to the videos and voices of those faced with the loss of children, family and friends from across our country due to so many senseless acts of violence; it tears at the very fabric of our being. It puts you in the seat of a high-speed emotional roller-coaster that takes off before your fully strapped in.

Senseless violence is color blind, non-denominational, indiscriminate, irrational and ultimately a devil in our midst trying to lead us all towards discourse and disarray. Instead of sitting in town halls yelling at one another and demanding immediate change; we must understand the condition before we discuss how to treat it. No more need to die, this is an absolute truth. So then why has our society, our youth and our securities been so uprooted. What has culturally changed to invoke such violence and horror. Have we become so afraid to talk, so politically correct, shallow and sheltered that we can no longer talk within and among our communities without fear of retribution. So much for ‘it takes a village’ when members of the village ran and hid instead of aided.

The increased appearance of these individuals in society is staggering; how can there be so many that could commit such unspeakable acts.

It is true, we all share in the suffering of our countries pain, we are lost in our voyage of independence. Yet, we need all be believers in our countries founding principles and although, at times, we will toil through suffering together, we must resist the urge to uproot our foundation but rather reinforce and support it to assure the building blocks on top of which we stand are kept intact and true.
As the Declaration of Independence states, “We hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness….”
It is our time, a time to accept what we have created…a lost youth. A youth without guiding principles or what is their right to enjoy Life, Liberty and their Pursuit of Happiness. We have worked so hard to shred away the layers of morality and non-political correctness that we have left ourselves with a soul-less and law-less mass of nothingness. Drifting aimlessly towards a destination I do not believe many understand the depravity of. We must wake up and right our ship before it crashes again into the banks of death and despair.

So true! Sadly, the liberal left is screwing with society. Our children are no longer free to be kids, everything has gotten so politically correct that they are not free to express themselves. We must get back to our roots and truth.
