WHOSE LAW WINS WHEN RELIGIOUS AUTHORITY AND THE CONSTITUTION COLLIDE?

A new warning from author Majid Rafizadeh is putting political Islam, Sharia law, and America’s constitutional protections under the microscope just days before the November 3 midterms.

A September 2026 Rasmussen/Our Republic survey found that 83% of likely voters opposed allowing Sharia to become the governing legal code for everyone in an American community.

Meanwhile, an October investigation revealed 39 state and federal bills or resolutions targeting Sharia introduced in 2025 and 2026.

And the stakes aren’t merely theoretical overseas. In Afghanistan, Taliban authorities continue enforcing their interpretation of Islamic law through restrictions on women’s education, freedom of expression, and religious practice.

But America has a constitutional distinction that matters: religious freedom is protected, while government establishment of religion is prohibited. And Sharia itself has diverse interpretations, from personal religious observance to state-enforced legal systems.
