Across the country, something disturbing is happening inside America’s crime databases. Hispanics and Blacks are being classified as “White” on crime reports — drastically skewing national statistics and reshaping how the FBI and media present “crime by race.”
Even worse, 37% of police departments nationwide don’t report their crime data to the FBI at all. That means over a third of the country’s crime numbers are completely missing from federal databases.
So, what’s going on here? Why this sudden push to hide — or rewrite — the racial and ethnic data behind who’s actually committing crimes in America?
If transparency is the foundation of justice, what does it say when the numbers are being cooked before they ever reach the public?
