President Trump has barred CNN, MS NOW and Politico from White House access. The three organizations are suing. Major television networks then suspended pooled TV coverage — while the White House simultaneously began promoting its new 24/7 “Trump TV” operation.

But buried underneath the First Amendment battle was one almost unbelievable moment: Trump opened the White House’s new helipad and much of his message was overwhelmed by helicopter noise.

This isn’t another simple “Trump vs. the media” argument. It’s about what happens when you remove an existing communications system before fully replacing everything that system actually did.
